Why is my recommendation conversions low?
In Findify, a product can be bought from 3 different sources: search results, recommendations and smart collections.
E-commerce conversions are calculating using the last event source recorded. Therefore, the ecommerce conversion score that Findify is calculating, can be lower than the score you would see in Nosto or similar services that only make recommendations.
Example 1:
- A customer clicks on a product from a recommendation widget.
- 5 minutes later, the customer makes a search query and click again on the same product.
- The customer then buys the product.
The product will be associated with the search-result source.
Example 2:
- A customer browses a smart collection and clicks on a product.
- The customer decides to continue browsing the website.
- From a recommendation widget, the customer sees the same product and clicks on it.
- The customer then buys the product.
The product will be associated with the recommendation source.
